Il nostro viaggio con Gaiking e il suo Drago Spaziale sarà un viaggio che travalica i confini geografici e non solo, dando nuova linfa vitale al lungo percorso evolutivo del genere robotico.

The Bright Side of News website reported on AMD's September briefing in which Urbach had shown a 10-second clip "from an upcoming manga movie, currently in development by Big Lazy Robot and a Japanese developer." The website posted several screenshots from the clip, and notes that a game is being developed simultaneously "using the very same digital assets and very same level of detail."

Pare che sia in progetto un videogioco di Gaiking con effetti grafici mai visti finora!

AMD kicked into high gear with its Fusion Rendering Cloud. A team lead by Jules Urbach, CEO of both OTOY and Lightstage is working hard on making a reality into a computer game and vice versa. During the ATI Evergreen briefing held on USS Hornet, Jules Urbach showed a 10 second clip from an upcoming manga movie, currently in development by Big Lazy Robot and a Japanese developer.

Durante questo meeting, avvenuto nel settembre 2009, venne trasmesso un breve filmato di 10 secondi su un Movie nato dalla collaborazione tra Big Lazy Robot ([URL=http://www.biglazyrobot.com/index.html]www.biglazyrobot.com/index.html[/URL]) e una ditta Giapponese che debutterà in Occidente nel 2012
E guarda caso, questo lavoro verrà gestito proprio dalla CEO di LighStage Jules Urbach, gli stessi che stanno lavorando al movie di Gaiking.

Che sia una coincidenza ? Su ANN (al link citato sopra) si vocifera che molto probabilmente si tratta del film di Gaiking e del videogioco che stanno realizzando .....

Ricordiamo che la LightStage utilizza un'alta qualità di rendering 3D e sistemi di acquisizione d'immagine viste fino ad oggi solo nei film di Avatar, Benjamin Button e Spiderman 2.


Se i rumors saranno confermati, allora assieme al film potremmo veder approdare anche un fatastico videogame del mitico Gaiking!

La seconda news :
Il debutto dell'episodio pilota è previsto per [color=red]27 marzo[/color] (ossia tra 2 giorni) presso il [color=blue]Tokyo Anime Fair 2010[/color] di Tokyo, mentre il rilascio mondiale è previsto per il 2012, assieme a al movie di Capitan Harlock, anch'esso in CG.



Altra notizia che confermerebbe questi rumors, sempre da ANN.

Toei has announced that Light Stage, one of the Oscar-winning production studios on the computer graphics for James Cameron's Avatar film, produced an all-new pilot for a remake of Toei's Gaiking anime series. La fonte (AnimeNewsNetwork) conferma la notizia e smentisce i fakes :

Japan's Toei Animation is planning to theatrically release computer-graphics (CG) works in Western countries and other locales in 2012. Another anime studio, Production I.G is also planning to release Titan Rain, a joint production with Singaporea's Storm Lion Pictures (Yona Yona Penguin), in Asia. According to the Nikkei news source, the companies are aiming for theatrical releases overseas in part because the number of anime programs on television has declined, and anime DVD shipments have also dropped.

Toei Animation is making two CG anime works, with 3D animation techniques, in 2011. One of the titles is Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and the other is Daikuu Maryuu Gaiking.
Each will have a production budget of several billion yen (about several tens of millions of yen), which Toei plans to raise by soliciting capital from multiple companies. Toei Animation is planning to release these works theatrically in Europe, North America, Asia, and elsewhere in 2012 or later.
